HOW TO HELP:
Gift and Legacy Planning
You can make a lasting contribution to the preservation of the Sierra Madre Occidental by naming SMA as a beneficiary in your will, or a recipient of a portion of your estate, or by establishing a charitable trust.
Bequests
SMA recommends the following language for use in wills, with four examples of bequest types.
"I hereby give, devise and bequeath to Sierra
Madre Alliance, a non-profit corporation of the State
of Arizona, POB 41416 Tucson, Arizona USA:
Percentage
- __________% of my estate."
Specific
- "The sum of $__________."
- "The shares of stock in __________ Company/Corporation."
- "My real property commonly known as__________."
Residual
- "all of the residue of my estate, including
real and personal."
Contingent
- (preceding the above paragraph)
"In the event of the death of any of my
beneficiaries"
(followed with percentage, specific, or residual
language above)

Charitable Trusts
A variety of charitable trusts or "life income agreements" offer significant tax advantages, a regular income for you, and long-term support for SMA.
